Alex Liska is a Toronto, Ontario native who has been very active her whole life. From a young age she was enrolled in various sports activities as well as dance classes.
Alex learned multi-tasking skills from a very young age; coming from a home where Spanish was the native tongue, her parents spoke very limited English, but they still decided to enroll her in a French Immersion program at school. Alex learned Spanish, English, French, and piano all at the same time so she enjoys juggling activities and getting a lot done at once.
Thanks to a very strict nutritional upbringing Alex was exposed to a very healthy lifestyle as a kid. The family had a large fruit and vegetable garden and Alex loved planting and enjoyed eating and feeling healthy. Alex started working out at home at age 14 and over the years she sculpted her physique through different workouts and different nutritional approaches. She became very passionate about health and fitness and went on to becoming a personal trainer at a local gym and freelancing. To keep motivated, Alex entered her first figure competition at age 20 and placed 4th in the Novice figure class at the IDFA Toronto classics show. She was approached by various photographers in the fitness industry and started doing photo shoots to try and put together a portfolio.
The last show she participated in was the OPA Ontario Naturals in Hamilton on September 11, 2010 where she placed first in her class and also won best Overall Figure.
Over the next few years Alex plans to continue competing in natural figure competitions and hopefully earn her pro-card someday. She is currently working on her ISSA Fitness/Nutrition certification so she can continue to personal train and do nutrition consults to help motivate others to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.
